Geoffrey T. Anders, JD, CPA, CHBC

Geoffrey T. Anders, JD, CPA, CHBC, has been consulting on behalf of physicians and physician organizations since 1977 on a wide array of strategic, operational, organizational, governance and legal issues.

Geoff has lectured extensively at major medical schools and universities and on behalf of many national specialty societies including UCLA, UCSF, Stamford, University of Pennsylvania, Thomas Jefferson University, the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society of Anesthesiology, the American Association of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Heart Association, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

Geoff began his career as a certified public accountant with Arthur Young & Co. prior to graduating from Temple University School of Law. Geoff joined The Health Care Group in 1977 and shortly thereafter was certified as a professional consultant by the Institute of Health Care Business Consultants. In 1986 he became President and CEO of The Health Care Group, and served as such until his retirement in 2007. He currently serves as a “consultant emeritus” with The Health Care Group. At HCG, Geoff co-founded the Goodwill Registry, authored Playing Fair: Planning Group Practice Compensation, and continues to contribute to other publications and practice management manuals.

Geoff is a “Senior Scholar” affiliated with the Department of Health Policy of Jefferson Medical College. He has served as President of the Society of Medical/Dental Management Consultants, as Trustee of the Institute of Certified Healthcare Business Consultants and as Trustee of the Foundation for Education in Healthcare Management.

Geoff has authored over 200 articles and serves on the editorial board of Medical Economics magazine. He co-authored Dermatology Practice Buy-ins and Pay-outs; contributed chapters to Valuing Professional Practices and Licenses; served on the Development Committee for “Primary Medicine Today” , and participated in the “Focus Group on RBRVS Work Components” conducted on behalf of the Health Care Financing Administration.

Geoff is a 3rd Dan Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, has had games published in Chess Life, and has served on several boards of not-for-profit foundations.
